Both types of valuation require great attention to detail and the ability to accurately record all the aspects which will affect a property's or land's value.
Informal valuations can also be associated with property sales, purchases, lettings or for tax planning purposes. Formal valuations are often required after an event, such as probate valuations for inheritance tax or capital gains tax valuations in connection with the sale or transfer of assets.
